iOS 13: All The New Features in Safari on iPhone
Safari update in iPadOS 13 is turning the iPad into a real computer. And most of those improvements make their way to the iPhone as well. You can now download files using Safari, and on the iPad, Safari will automatically open desktop websites. Here are all the new Safari features on the iPhone and iPad you should know about.
All The New Safari Features in iOS 13 and iPadOS 13
New Start Page
The first thing you’ll notice when you open the Safari app is the newly updated Start Page. It has a new section at the bottom for suggestions. Siri Suggestions will show you websites you open frequently or if you’ve got a link in Messages.
Safari Download Manager
You can now download files using Safari. The feature is hidden and only shows up when you tap on a download link. When you tap on one, it will show a popup asking if you want to download the file. Tap on Download to start the process.
A new Downloads button will show up in the toolbar. Tap on it to view all current downloads. You can delete downloads from here as well.
Change Download Location
By default, Safari downloads files to the Downloads folder in iCloud Drive. But if you’re on the 5GB plan, you might not want that. You can switch the download location to a local folder as well.
To change the download location, go to Settings > Downloads (in General section) > On my iPhone. This will switch to a Downloads folder on your local iPhone or iPad. But you can go a step further and change this location as well by going to the Other option.
We’ve written about the Safari download manager in detail in our guide here.
Save Open Tabs as Bookmarks
You can now save all open tabs as a folder in Bookmarks. Tap and hold on the Bookmarks icon. You’ll see a new option called “Add Bookmarks for X tabs”. Tap on it and select where you want to save them (and the name of the folder).
Jump to Open Tab From Search
Safari’s URL bar gets a bit smarter in this update. You can search for an open tab in the URL bar and tap on it to instantly switch to it.
Automatically Close Safari Tabs
When you try to close all tabs in Safari, you’ll see a popup asking if you want to automatically close Safari tabs. You can do this on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. You can also enable this feature from Settings -> Safari -> Close Tabs.
New In-Page Settings
There’s a new icon in the toolbar for managing the page’s settings. The icon still looks like the old Reader Mode icon. When you tap on it you’ll see a drop-down menu with options for the web page.
From here you can engage the reader view.
Adaptive Font Sizes in Web Page
The first thing you’ll notice in the new settings menu is the Zoom feature. This is a smart version of the zoom feature. It will only increase the font while keeping everything else the same level.
iPad Automatically Loads Desktop Website
The Safari app on the iPad now automatically loads the desktop version of the website. If you want to request the mobile version, you can tap go to the Aa icon and choose the option from there.
Open A Safari Link in New Window
Safari integrates the new multitasking features in iPadOS 13 directly in the app, making it easier to create a new Safari window from a link.
So you can just tap and hold on a link, drag it out to the right edge of the iPad screen and let go of it to create a new Safari window with the web page already loaded for you.
Link Previews
Safari also has link previews in the contextual menu that shows up when you tap and hold on a link on iPhone and iPad. It will show a preview of the page. You can also disable these previews from the contextual menu itself.
Turn Off Content Blocker For a Website
From the settings page, you can also quickly disable the content blocker for the particular website.
Individually Manage Website Settings
From the Aa drop-down menu, you can tap on Website Settings to manage the individual settings fro the website. Here you can choose to enable Reader Mode automatically, request desktop website, disable content blockers and allow access for the camera, microphone, and location on a per-site basis.
Take Full Page Screenshots
There’s a special new addition to the screenshot editing feature that’s just for Safari. But we hope it gets added to more apps in the future. You can take full page screenshots of a web page in Safari now.
Just take a screenshot and tap on the preview in the bottom-left corner. From the screenshot editing screen, switch to the Full Page tab. You’ll now be able to scroll through the whole page. If you wish, you can annotate or crop the screenshot as well. Also Read:h33t proxy

Tap on Done and then choose Save to Files. You can choose the directory you want to save the screenshot to. The screenshot will be saved in the directory in PDF format. You can go to the Files app to find the screenshot. Tap on Share to share the PDF to Mail or any other app.
Automatic Dark Mode for Supported Websites
Safari on iOS has an experimental feature called Dark Mode CSS Support. This means that if a website has special CSS code pertaining to Dark mode it will automatically load that version of the site when the iOS device is in dark mode.

6 Common Ways to Fix "An Error Occurred Loading This Content"
If you would rather not use an advanced program or you don't want to risk losing all your data in a factory reset, the following common solutions can be helpful.
Way 1. Check the Internet Connection
Since this issue can be caused by a poor internet connection, preventing your Apple TV from communicating with the streaming service's server, you need to check the internet connection.
Step 1: Go to Settings on your Apple TV and click on "General".
Step 2: Click on "Network -> Test Network" and then click "OK".
Step 3: Confirm the action by clicking on "Yes" in and then choose the download speed you think your internet connection can handle.
Way 2. Turn off Subtitle Language
Since subtitles can be tasking to an already struggling internet connection, turning them off may be a good idea for you.
To turn off subtitles, you need to go to Settings -> Audio & Video -> Subtitle Language.
Way 3. Change Video Quality
Watching the video in HD quality may affect your Internet connectivity resulting in this problem. If the internet is slow, you may want to change the video quality.
To do that, you should go to Settings -> Audio &Video -> TV Resolution and change it to 720p or any other suitable resolution.
Way 4. Turn off the "Send to Apple" Setting
The "Send to Apple" feature can be instrumental in helping Apple maintain quality. But it can also cause buffering issues and network connectivity problems since it does take some bandwidth.
To disable this feature go to Settings -> General -> Send Data to Apple.
Way 5. Restart Your Apple TV
A simple restart can be instrumental in helping to fix a lot of issues with any device and the Apple TV is no different. To complete a restart of your Apple TV, follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Unplug both the Apple TV and the TV from the power source for at least two minutes.
Step 2: Plug both devices back in and turn them on.
You can also restart the Apple TV via settings.
Way 6. Restart the Router
Sometimes it is not the issue of your Apple TV and the problem could be the router. Simply restarting the router has been known to reset the device and get it working normally again.
To restart the router, just unplug it from the power source, wait a few minutes and then re-plug it in and turn it on. This will refresh the router and get it working normally again.

How to limit data usage on the Facebook app
Facebook is one of those apps that people love to hate. Nobody likes to admit it but many of us spend an unhealthy amount of time browsing through the social network, eavesdropping on the fabulous lives of our acquaintances and scrolling past Buzzfeed quizzes and fake news. If being addicted to a social network wasn't bad enough, the Facebook app has the tendency to not only kill your battery life, but also drain your data. We've gathered a few tips on how to reduce data usage in Facebook.
Reduce data usage in the Facebook app
Adjust your app settings
Change Data Usage settings
Facebook Lite
Adjusting your app settings to reduce Facebook data usage
Now, this is the first step that you should undertake if you're worried that Facebook is using too much data. Coincidentally, this is also the easiest thing you can do. If you share a lot of photos and videos on Facebook, this might be the root cause of your data woes. As might be the (super annoying) video auto playing feature. To curb this unnecessary data usage, you'll need to do the following:
Inside the Facebook app, tap on the hamburger menu on the right hand side and scroll down to App Settings.
Tap on App Settings and you'll see a list of toggle features. Untoggle 'Upload photos in HD' and 'Upload Videos in HD'.
To disable the dreaded Facebook video auto-play feature, tap on Auto-play.
Now you can choose if, when and how videos will now auto-play in your Facebook feed.

Tweak your Data Usage settings in Facebook
Facebook for Android also has a built-in Data Saver mode, which in theory reduces image sizes and disables video auto-play. This setting can easily be accessed the same way as the app settings.
Inside the Facebook app, tap on the hamburger menu on the right-hand side and scroll down to Settings & Privacy.
Tap on Data Saver to save on mobile data. You can set it to turn off automatically when you're connected to Wi-Fi.
It's worth noting that when you turn Data Saver on, Upload photos and videos in HD settings in the app settings remain untouched.

Facebook Lite
Now, if you really want to save data and also live in some part of the world where your data connection is frustratingly slow, Facebook Lite is the solution for you. Facebook Lite is a slimmed down version of the Facebook app designed to give people a better and faster experience on slow mobile networks. To read more about the ins and outs of what Facebook Lite is all about, check our article here.
Facebook Lite
The only caveat here is that Facebook Lite is not available in all markets. This shouldn't really hinder any true Android fans as you can easily download the Facebook Lite APK (we normally recommend APK Mirror).

How to boost Wi-Fi signal on your Android device 2019
Learn which Wi-Fi access point is the best
Short of turning the router off and on again, which should always be your first option when suffering from a poor Wi-Fi connection, another way is using the Wi-Fi analyzer app. Firstly, it provides the best channel to use for your particular network. Without going into detail, it allows you to optimize the network and means you don't have to be a technical whizz-kid to do so.
Secondly, it assesses which network in the area has the most stable connection, which often isn't the one which your phone connects to by default. Lastly, it offers easy access to network information such as your IP address, network gateway, DNS, etc. It's not essential, but useful for power-users.

Check if your phone case is blocking signal
Many phone cases actually make your Wi-Fi signal worse, especially if they contain metal, which is often used for added protection or kickstands. To see if your case is affecting your Wi-Fi signal, do an Ookla speed test with the case off, then, in the same location, put the case back on and perform the test again. If you see a difference when using your case you may want to look at alternatives. The app asks for a wild amount of permissions, so we recommend uninstalling it as soon as you have concluded your test.

Put your router in the perfect spot
Another simple trick that can greatly improve the Wi-Fi connection at home is the optimization of the router's location. Often it is placed right next to the phone or cable outlet, but this is rarely the best for your connection. If you can move it, take a look at the Wi-Fi FDTD solver app that allows you to see at a glance how your router signal is doing.

MacGyver a DIY radio dish
Have all the above failed? It's time for the old-school option. If you're in real need of a better Wi-Fi signal then you can actually make your own little parabolic dish to ''catch'' some better reception. This is basically a small version of a big radio or satellite dish. You can use a metal bowl or cut open a soda can to make a receiver dish. It may not be the most practical thing to do every time you have a weak signal, but it is fun.
Here's how to get free Wi-Fi anywhere
Wi-Fi doesn't work: what's the solution?
Change your Wi-Fi frequency band to 5 GHz
Most Android devices can run on the 5 GHz frequency band, as well as the old 2.4 GHz band. What does this mean? On the higher frequencies, like 5 GHz, there's much more free space on the spectrum. There are 23 channels of 20 MHz each on the 5 GHz frequency, which is much more than the 14 channels offered on 2.4 GHz. Because the channels don't overlap, you're likely to get a better signal on your Wi-Fi.Also Read:Top 25 Best Netflix Cookies for You to Use Netflix for Free 2019

For devices on Android 6.0 Marshmallow or older
If your router works on the 5 GHz band (most recent routers do), then switch your phone over to that band too by going to Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi frequency band then tap Auto. This will ensure that your phone runs on the 5 GHz band when possible.
Make sure your phone uses the 5 GHz band when possible by setting the frequency band to 'Auto'. / © AndroidPIT
For devices running Android 7.0 Nougat or newer
Never Android versions don't allow you to switch Wi-Fi bands in the settings, but if you feel you still need this option, there's a handy open source Wi-FiAnalyzer app that will enable you to switch Wi-Fi bands easily.
You can set the frequency band using Wi-FiAnalyzer. / © AndroidPIT

Update your radio or firmware
If you're receiving OTA updates from your carrier or manufacturer then this probably doesn't apply to you, but if you are running custom ROMs you may find yourself occasionally needing to manually update the radio on your Android. As an example, here's how to update the bootloader and radio on the Nexus 5. You should also make sure you're on the latest version of Android to ensure the best performance. To check this, go to Settings > About > Software updates.
If you're not on the OTA trail, you may need to update your radio manually./ © AndroidPIT
Tell your phone to avoid poor connections (Android 6.0 Marshmallow or older)
In the Android Settings menu, there is a nice little option that tells your phone to avoid poor Wi-Fi connections, meaning that while it is scanning for available networks it will actually avoid trying to connect to those with poor signals. This will save you a lot in terms of power and frustration. Just go to Settings > Wi-Fi and tap the overflow menu button and then Advanced. Here you will see the checkbox to avoid poor connections.

Lead Apple Engineer Who Oversaw Design Development of A-Series Chips Departs
The lead designer behind Apple’s custom A-series chips A7-A12X, Gerard Williams III, has left the company.
Gerard Williams III was the senior director in platform architecture at Apple. He worked at the company for 9 years. Apart from the chip design, Williams also oversaw the layout of various other parts on the SoC.
Before Apple, Williams worked at ARM for 12 years. He was the technical lead on Arm’s Cortex-A8 microarchitecture which made its way into the iPhone 3GS and numerous other Android devices. His name is listed in over 60 Apple patents as an inventor.
Apple has been moving the development of key chips used inside its devices in-house. What first started as the A7 chip featuring a 64-bit microarchitecture with the iPhone 5s has now expanded to include a custom GPU, a Secure Enclave chip, W1/H1 wireless chips, and more. Apple is also expected to switch to its custom-designed PMIC (power management IC) in the future to further improve iPhone battery life.
Williams departure is a major blow to Apple as the company’s chip division has seen some notable executives leave in recent years. This includes chip guru Johny Srouji, Jim Keller, and Manu Gulati who went and joined Google. After Gulati’s departure two years ago, Williams took the mantle from him and oversaw SoC architecture development at Apple.
Our Take
Williams played a key role at Apple’s chip division and his excellent work has resulted in Apple’s chips being notably faster than the industry offering. The results of his work will continue to be visible in upcoming Apple chips in the near future.
