I have today received a 4K teaser image from Elephone, they have not given any further detail but it would appear that they are building suspense for yet another new product.
Could this be a teaser for the P10,000? will they be looking to release a 4K telephone? to my mind this would be major overkill, but this is the China Android market so never say never.
To my thinking it is more likely to be an Ultra HD 4K television set, something that will put them in the ring with the big boys such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic and on their home turf up against companies such as Xiaomi.
If they did go the TV route, their panels would most likely be supplied by one of the bigger companies mentioned above, so picture quality would not really be much of an issue.
Where they would win or lose is their functionality, hopefully Elephone if they chose to enter the market would create a decent Android based platform for the TV to run on and power it with decent spec android hardware, giving users access to 1000’s of apps and streaming services.
Other hints have been made about the nature of the 4K teaser image from Elephone, these include some form of virtual reality headset or a projector, these seem less likely in my opinion.
