Facebook Adds Post Searching

Facebook Adds Post Searching
Facebook has now introduced new feature namely post search that is a new and easier way to keep track of earlier posts.
Facebook users can now search for precise posts, including news articles, photos and videos. It’s a long past due feature the company’s been working on since it revealed the development of “graph search” in January 2013.
This tool is used so that users may find older posts or photos shared by their friends by simply typing whatever they want to find in the search box. This tool lets users discover content shared in the past by people with slight effort.
While the update is exhilarating it also has the ability to speedily bring up your entire history on the social network, granted your privacy settings are set to share with friends or the entire public.
The timeline on the right side of the page can be used for quickly traveling back in time to adjust the settings on even the oldest posts in which you’ve been tagged.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, called this tool a long-term endeavor for his company and assured more updates of the social networking site in the near future. Despite the fact that Facebook said their priority is being mainly “mobile”, the fact that graph search took almost two years to reach smartphones is a surprise.
At present the feature is slowly launched for iPhone and desktop users only. You will notice the feature is built into version 20.0 of the Facebook iOS app, which is available as a download or an update now. The official announcement made no declaration of the added functionality coming to Android, but one would imagine it can’t be too far behind.

When the feature is available for your account, you will see an alert just below the search box letting you know you can now search for posts.
Facebook hopes that new tools and features planned in the new future will keep its users intrigued and away from competitors such as Twitter that perk up their own network with new tools. Only a few weeks back Twitter rolled out released a like new tool for their social networking site called “every tweet ever posted” which allowed users to search for older “tweets”.
